Hello there! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!
Did you know that today means exactly one month till the conference?! So in light of that I thought I would share with you a bit more information about what the Set Apart Girl Conference is about and what we are going to be doing.
The conference is a video conference who the main speaker will be Leslie Ludy. Leslie is co-author with her husband Eric of the book When God Writes Your Love Story. She is also the author of Authentic Beauty, Set Apart Femininity, and The Lost Art of True Beauty among others. She will be talking about everything from Prayer and Beauty to how to live in true freedom.
Our plan for this conference is to have one day where you can come and get away from all the drama of your daily life. We know that being a teen girl in our society is NOT easy. You have pressures from every side all telling you something different. You are constantly told you need to do something different. You need to dress different, act different, talk different… Everyday people try to make you into the person they want you to be, not who you really are or who God made you to be. To add on to it unrealistic goals of beauty are put in front of you, magazine covers, bill boards, TV shows, celebrities are all things that you are told you need to look like. You are told that you are never enough, never skinny enough, never smart enough, never good enough.
At this conference we want to encourage you and give you hope. We are going to have some wonderful Godly women that if you need prayer for anything our just need to tell someone your story, they will be there for you. Through this conference we are hoping that you receive a vision for something more. More than shallow here and there relationships, more than broken families, and more than striving to achieve that perfect figure.
If you come you are going to have a great day being encouraged, hanging out with your girlfriends, and having a TON of fun! ( I mean think about it its going to be a room full of girls, how can it not be fun?!)
